About this tool
CDR is the format of CorelDRAW, a popular illustration program for signs, print and cutting plotters. DXF (Drawing Exchange Format) is the AutoCAD exchange format that every CAD program, laser cutter and CNC tool reads.
This converter turns your CDR file into DXF, the right choice for AutoCAD and other CAD programs, laser cutting, plotting and CNC machining. Every shape becomes lines, arcs and polylines in millimetres at the real size of the drawing; text becomes outlines, so the DXF opens correctly in any CAD program and on cutting machines. Add up to 10 files at once – each one is converted in the background, so you can keep using the site and download every result as soon as it is ready.
Drawings are converted on our server: the upload starts only after you confirm, the original is deleted after conversion and the result is kept for 6 hours unless you delete it sooner.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert CDR to DXF?
Choose or drop your CDR file, keep DXF as the output and click Convert. After you confirm the upload, our server converts the file and shows the progress; then you download the DXF file.
Can I convert several CDR files at once?
Yes. Add up to 10 files at a time. Each gets its own background job with its own progress, and you can download each result as soon as it is finished.
How large can the file be?
Each file can be up to 100 MB.
What happens to my file?
It is uploaded only after you confirm. The original is deleted as soon as the conversion is finished, and the DXF file is kept for 6 hours so you can download it – you can delete it yourself at any time.
Is the CDR to DXF converter free?
Yes. It is free, without sign-up and without a watermark.
Which units and layers does the DXF use?
The DXF is written in millimetres at the real size of the drawing. Shapes become lines, arcs and polylines and text becomes outlines; fills and gradients cannot be stored in DXF, so only the outlines remain.
Which CorelDRAW versions are supported?
CDR files from most CorelDRAW versions are read; if a file from a very new version does not open, save it in CorelDRAW as an older CDR version or as PDF. Effects that only CorelDRAW can draw – such as some lenses, contours and PowerClips – may be simplified. We cannot write CDR, because only CorelDRAW writes it correctly; CorelDRAW opens SVG, EPS, PDF and AI.
