About this tool

Save the sound of a video as an MP3 file that plays everywhere: the music of a clip, a recorded talk, lecture or interview, or the sound of your own phone videos. Drop videos in any common format – 3G2, 3GP, 3GPP, AVI, CAVS, DV, DVR, FLV, M2TS, M4V, MKV, MOD, MOV, MP4, MPEG, MPG, MTS, MXF, OGG, OGV, RM, RMVB, SWF, TS, VOB, WEBM, WMV and WTV – and each one becomes an MP3.

The sound keeps its quality (“Auto” keeps the video’s own bitrate), and under “Options” you can choose another bitrate, mono or stereo, or cut out just the part you need. The picture and the video’s own data (such as the camera or the place it was filmed) are not copied into the MP3.

Files are converted on our server: the upload starts only after you confirm, the original is deleted after conversion and the result is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.

How do I convert a video to MP3?

Choose or drop your video, keep MP3 as the output and click Convert. After you confirm the upload, our server saves the sound of the video as MP3 and you download it.

Can I convert a YouTube video to MP3?

We do not download videos from YouTube or any other website – that is against their terms of use. If you have the video file itself, for example a video you made and downloaded from YouTube Studio, or a clip saved on your phone, drop it here and you get its sound as MP3.

Which video formats work?

Will the MP3 sound good?

Yes. “Auto” keeps the bitrate of the video’s own sound (at least 128 kbit/s); you can also choose up to 320 kbit/s under “Options”.

How large can the video be?

Each file can be up to 300 MB and 10 hours long, and you can add up to 10 at once.

What happens to my video?

It is uploaded only after you confirm. The video is deleted as soon as the MP3 is ready, and the MP3 is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
