About this tool
A signed contract, a receipt for your expenses, a school form, handwritten notes: you do not need a scanner or an app to send them as a proper PDF. Photograph each page with your phone – this page opens the camera directly – and the scanner finds the sheet of paper in the photo, straightens it even when it was taken at an angle and crops away the table around it. If the edges are not found exactly, drag the four corners onto the corners of the paper.
The Document look removes shadows and uneven light so the paper turns white and the text stays sharp; Greyscale and Black & white make small files that print well, Vivid colours suits drawings and coloured forms. Every page can be turned, removed or reordered, and pages are fitted on A4 or Letter or kept at the size of the photo. With text recognition (OCR) the PDF also becomes searchable and its text can be copied. All of this happens in your browser: your documents are never uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an app?
No. On a phone, “Take a photo” opens the camera in the browser; you can also choose photos you already took, on a phone or a computer.
What if the paper is not found correctly?
Drag the four round handles onto the corners of the paper, or choose “Whole photo”. The result view shows the straightened page straight away.
Can the PDF be searched?
Yes, if you turn on text recognition: an invisible text layer is added, so you can search and copy the text. The language data is loaded once from our site, your pages stay in the browser.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. The photos are straightened, cleaned and put into the PDF in your browser; nothing is sent to our server.
