About this tool

CDR is the format of CorelDRAW, a popular illustration program for signs, print and cutting plotters. AI is the Adobe Illustrator format; since Illustrator 9 an AI file carries a PDF version of the artwork inside.

This converter turns your CDR file into AI, the right choice for opening and editing the drawing in Adobe Illustrator. Paths, shapes, colours, gradients and text are taken over as vectors, so the AI file stays sharp at any size and can still be edited. Add up to 10 files at once – each one is converted in the background, so you can keep using the site and download every result as soon as it is ready.

Which CorelDRAW versions are supported?

CDR files from most CorelDRAW versions are read; if a file from a very new version does not open, save it in CorelDRAW as an older CDR version or as PDF. Effects that only CorelDRAW can draw – such as some lenses, contours and PowerClips – may be simplified. We cannot write CDR, because only CorelDRAW writes it correctly; CorelDRAW opens SVG, EPS, PDF and AI.
