About this tool

AI is the Adobe Illustrator format; since Illustrator 9 an AI file carries a PDF version of the artwork inside. SVGZ is an SVG drawing compressed with gzip – the same drawing in a much smaller file.

This converter turns your AI file into SVGZ, the right choice for storing and sending SVG drawings in a smaller file that Inkscape and Illustrator open directly. Paths, shapes, colours, gradients and text are taken over as vectors, so the SVGZ file stays sharp at any size and can still be edited.
