About this tool
Bank statements, payslips and invoices often arrive with a password you have to type every single time, and some PDFs refuse to print or to let you copy a sentence. If the document is yours to use, this tool removes those locks once and for all.
Add the files: for documents with a password to open, you enter the password you received; restrictions on printing, copying, editing, comments, forms or page changes are removed without one. The panel shows how each file was protected, so you can see what changes. The unlocked copy keeps everything else – pages, bookmarks, links, forms and the document information.
Several files are unlocked in one go and can be downloaded as a ZIP. The work happens in your browser: neither the PDF nor the password is sent to us. This tool does not guess or crack unknown passwords – it is meant for documents you are entitled to open.
Frequently asked questions
Can I unlock a PDF without knowing the password?
If the file needs a password to open, you must know it – we do not crack passwords. Files that open freely but block printing or copying are unlocked without a password.
What stays in the unlocked file?
Everything: pages, text, images, bookmarks, links, forms and the document information. Only the encryption is removed.
Is it legal to remove PDF restrictions?
It is fine for documents you are allowed to use, such as your own statements or files whose owner agrees. Respect the rights of others.
Can I unlock several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add all of them; each one asks for its password if it has one, and you download them separately or as a ZIP.
Is my PDF or password uploaded?
No. Both stay in your browser; nothing is sent to our server.
