About this tool

Wide white margins make a PDF hard to read on a phone or e-reader, scans often have dark scanner borders, and slides exported with a frame waste space when printed. This tool trims the pages to the area you want and shows the part that will disappear as a dark shade on every page thumbnail.

Enter the margins in millimetres for each side, use the quick buttons for the same margin all round, or let the tool find the white border around the content of the selected pages automatically – it uses the smallest border so no content is cut. The crop can apply to every page or only to the pages you choose, for example only the scanned ones.

Cropping changes the visible area of the page (its crop box); text stays selectable and nothing is re-rendered. Content outside the new edges is hidden rather than deleted, so for sensitive information use Redact PDF instead. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How does the automatic crop work?

It looks for the white border around the content of the selected pages and uses the smallest one, minus 1 mm, so nothing on any page is cut off.

Is the cut-off content deleted?

No. It is hidden by the new page edges and could be restored with a PDF editor. To remove information for good, use Redact PDF.

Can I crop only some pages?

Yes. Tap the pages or type a range under “Pages to crop”; the others keep their size.

Does cropping reduce the quality?

No. The page content is not re-rendered; only the visible area changes.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is changed in your browser.
