About this tool
Profile pictures on most sites are shown as circles. Cropping the photo into a circle yourself lets you decide exactly what is visible: the face centred, nothing important cut off at the edges.
Drag the preview to move the photo inside the shape and zoom in with the slider, the presets or the mouse wheel. The corner rounding goes from a full circle to a rounded square (like app icons) or plain square corners; with "oval" the shape follows the photo's own proportions. A border in any colour, a coloured background instead of transparency and fixed output sizes (1024, 512, 400, 256 or 128 px) are one click away.
PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, ICO and TIFF keep the corners transparent; JPG and BMP have no transparency, so the corners become white. Select several photos to crop them all with the same settings and download them as a ZIP. Everything happens in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the corners white instead of transparent?
JPG and BMP can't store transparency. Choose PNG (default), WebP or AVIF as the output format to keep transparent corners.
What size should a profile picture be?
Most platforms show avatars at 100–400 px but upload larger versions for sharp displays; 512 or 1024 px is a safe choice.
Can I make a rounded square instead of a circle?
Yes. Lower the corner rounding to "Rounded" or "Slightly rounded", or set it to 0 for square corners.
Can I crop several photos at once?
Yes. Select several files: the first one is shown, and the same shape, zoom and position are applied to all of them when you save. You get a ZIP.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The crop is made by your browser; the photos don't leave your device.
