Higher means better sound and a larger file. “Auto” keeps the bitrate of the original (at least 128 kbit/s); from lossless files it uses the format’s high-quality setting.

Pages to convert

Several pages arrive as a ZIP with one image per page.

Shown by e-readers in the library; leave empty to keep what the document says.

PDF/A-2b embeds all fonts so the file looks the same in many years; required by many courts and public offices.

Scales every sheet so it fits on a single page instead of being split across several.

Sheets

CSV and TSV hold one table: with “Every sheet” each sheet becomes its own file, together in a ZIP.

Excel in many European languages expects a semicolon; most other programs a comma.

If you continue, the file is uploaded over an encrypted connection and converted on our server. You can keep using the site meanwhile. The original is deleted as soon as it is converted; the result is kept for 7 days so you can download it, and you can delete it at any time. Files are never shared or used for anything else.

Your images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. If a file is too large for your browser or in a format it can’t handle, we ask before converting it on our server. The original is deleted right after conversion; the result is kept for 7 days for you to download, unless you delete it sooner. Privacy details

About this tool

iPhones and iPads save photos in HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) format by default. HEIC files are small and high quality, but many websites, Windows programs and older devices can't open them. This tool converts them to JPG, the most widely supported photo format.

Conversion happens in your browser. Safari can read HEIC files directly; in other browsers the tool downloads a HEIC decoder once (about 0.8 MB compressed) and runs it on your device. Your photos are not uploaded.

The JPG is saved upright, the way the photo looks on your phone. Hidden metadata such as the location where the photo was taken is not copied into the JPG.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to convert private photos here?

Yes. Photos are converted by your own browser and are not uploaded to our server for normal use. If a photo can't be converted in your browser, the tool asks before sending it anywhere.

Will I lose quality converting HEIC to JPG?

JPG uses lossy compression, so there is a small loss, but at the default quality of 90 it is very hard to see. Choose a higher quality for archiving or a lower one for smaller files.

Does the JPG keep the photo's location and camera data?

No. The JPG is created from the image pixels only, so EXIF metadata such as GPS location, camera model and capture time is removed. This is often useful before sharing photos online.

Can I convert Live Photos or HEIC bursts?

The tool converts the main still image of each HEIC file. The motion part of a Live Photo is a separate video file and is not included.

How do I stop my iPhone taking HEIC photos?

On the iPhone, open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose “Most Compatible”. New photos will then be saved as JPG. Existing HEIC photos are not changed.
