Files to convert
Your images are processed in your browser and are not uploaded. If a file is too large for your browser or in a format it can’t handle, we ask before converting it on our server. The original is deleted right after conversion; the result is kept for 7 days for you to download, unless you delete it sooner. Privacy details
How to use: SVG to TIFF
- 1 Choose or drag in one or more SVG files.
- 2 Choose the output size: the drawing's own size, a multiple of it, or an exact width in pixels.
- 3 Click Convert. The gear button next to a file opens its options; files you add afterwards are converted straight away.
- 4 Download the TIFF files one by one, or all at once as a ZIP file.
About this tool
SVG is a vector format: it describes shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size. Many programs, forms and social networks don't accept SVG files, though. TIFF is a high-quality format used by scanners, printers, publishing and photo archives. Files are usually large, and browsers and many websites can't show them.
Converting to TIFF is useful for printing, publishing, scanning and archiving. Because an SVG has no fixed pixel size, you choose how large the TIFF should be. The drawing is rendered at exactly that size, so it stays sharp. You can also paste SVG code directly instead of choosing a file. TIFF files are uncompressed or lightly compressed, so expect them to be much larger than the SVG.
Files are converted in your browser and are not uploaded to a server. If a file is too large for your device, the tool explains why and asks before sending it anywhere. Hidden metadata such as the GPS location is not copied into the TIFF.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your own browser, so your files stay on your device. Only if a file is too large for your browser does the tool offer server processing, and it asks you first.
Is the conversion lossless?
Yes. TIFF stores every pixel exactly, so the image looks identical to the SVG.
Why is the TIFF file so much bigger?
TIFF stores images with little or no compression. That keeps full quality and makes the file easy to read for other programs, but the file is often many times larger than the SVG.
How big will the TIFF image be?
By default it uses the size written in the SVG (or its viewBox). You can choose 2×, 3×, 4× or 8× that size, or an exact width; the height follows the proportions. The drawing is rendered at that size, so it stays sharp.
Is the image's metadata kept?
No. The TIFF is created from the image pixels only, so EXIF data such as the GPS location, camera model and capture time is not copied. This is useful before sharing images online.
