About this tool
SFARK is a compressed archive of a SoundFont (SF2) bank, common on older sample-sharing sites. SF2 (SoundFont 2) is a bank of instrument samples for synthesizers and music software, not a song.
Most samplers, synthesizers and MIDI programs cannot open sfArk archives, and the original sfArk program no longer runs on modern computers. This converter unpacks your SFARK file into the original SF2 bank, unchanged and complete.
Files are converted on our server: the upload starts only after you confirm, the original is deleted after conversion and the result is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert SFARK to SF2?
Choose or drop your SFARK file and click Convert. After you confirm the upload, our server unpacks it and you download the SF2 bank.
Is the SoundFont changed?
No. sfArk is lossless compression: you get exactly the SF2 bank that was packed, with every sample and instrument.
Which sfArk files work?
Files made with sfArk version 2 and later. The rare version 1 files use a closed compression method that no open tool can unpack.
What happens to my files?
They are uploaded only after you confirm. The original is deleted as soon as it is unpacked, and the SF2 file is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
