About this tool
SFARK is a compressed archive of a SoundFont (SF2) bank, common on older sample-sharing sites. MP3 is the most widely supported audio format: it plays on every phone, computer, car radio and speaker.
A SoundFont is not one song but a bank of recorded instrument notes (samples). This converter saves every sample of your SFARK bank as its own MP3 file, named after the sample; left and right halves of stereo samples are joined into one stereo file. You get all files together in a ZIP – ready for a sampler, a DAW or any audio player.
Files are converted on our server: the upload starts only after you confirm, the original is deleted after conversion and the result is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
Frequently asked questions
What do I get from a SFARK file?
One MP3 file for every sample in the bank (stereo samples as one stereo file), named after the sample and numbered in bank order, all together in a ZIP.
Can I hear a song from the SoundFont?
No – a SoundFont contains single instrument notes, not music. To hear a melody you play the bank with a MIDI file in a synthesizer; here you get the recorded notes themselves.
Is the sound quality kept?
Yes. Samples are copied 1:1 (16-bit, or 24-bit when the bank has 24-bit samples) – to WAV without any change, to compressed formats at high quality.
How large can the bank be?
Up to 300 MB per file, and up to 10 files at once.
What happens to my files?
They are uploaded only after you confirm. The original is deleted as soon as the samples are saved, and the result is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
