About this tool
AAC is the successor of MP3: better sound at the same size, used by Apple, YouTube and most streaming services. MOV is Apple’s QuickTime format and the default for videos recorded on iPhones and Macs.
Video sites such as YouTube only accept video files. This converter turns your AAC sound into a MOV video that shows the file’s cover art – or a black picture when there is none – for the whole length of the sound. That is all you need to publish music, a podcast episode or a recording. Choose 720p or 1080p and, if you like, only part of the sound under “Options”. The sound itself is encoded at high quality.
Files are converted on our server: the upload starts only after you confirm, the original is deleted after conversion and the result is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert AAC to MOV?
Choose or drop your AAC file, keep MOV as the output and click Convert. After you confirm the upload, our server makes a MOV video with your sound and you download it.
What does the video show?
The cover art stored in the AAC file, centred on a black background. When the file has no cover – or you choose “Black” under “Options” – the video is simply black.
Can I upload the result to YouTube?
Yes. YouTube only accepts video files, so music, podcasts and recordings have to become a video first. MP4 is the format YouTube recommends; choose 1080p for the sharpest cover picture.
Does the sound lose quality?
The sound is encoded at a high bitrate for the MOV format, so the difference is not audible in normal listening.
How long can the audio be?
Up to 10 hours and 300 MB per file; you can add up to 10 files at once.
What happens to my files?
They are uploaded only after you confirm. The original is deleted as soon as the video is made, and the MOV file is kept for 7 days unless you delete it sooner.
